A headlight tester is part instrument and part alignment system. Measurement performance depends on the selected configuration and the physical conditions around the inspection position.
Define the lamps and vehicles
Confirm vehicle classes, lamp technologies, beam patterns and the quantities required by the inspection procedure.
Check the supported height range and lateral travel against the real fleet, including commercial vehicles where applicable.
Treat the floor as part of the system
The vehicle standing area and tester travel path must meet the levelness and stability required by the installation instructions.
Control ambient light, reflections, obstructions and the distance used for alignment. Mark repeatable vehicle positioning points.
Plan operation and data
Decide whether alignment is manual, assisted or automatic and how the operator confirms vehicle centerline and lamp position.
Define printing, lane-control and database interfaces before installation, including handling of retests.
What should the project team confirm?
- Vehicle and lamp scope
- Measurement quantities
- Height and travel range
- Floor levelness
- Ambient light control
- Alignment workflow
- Data and report interfaces
Share the applicable procedure, vehicle scope and operating environment.
